Sneak Peak

This week the boys have no school.  SPRING BREAK!!!  We have been having a lot of fun and even though I don't have time to post it all I thought that I would just show you a preview:)

Road trip!!  We went to St. George for a few days.   So this is our ride down there.  We took the scenic drive, and enjoyed seeing the beautiful world around us.

The boys had lots of fun.  They are so full of energy.

Big Rock Candy Mountain

James is our new photographer!  I think that he does a great job.  It is something that we love doing together.  When there is a beautiful sunset or the moon looks amazing he always grabs his camera and we go outside together and try to capture the moments together.  They are some of my favorite moments.  He looks up to his dad so much lately and loves to go everywhere with him, it is great for me to have those things that we do together too.  He is really a great kid.

When we passed Big Rock Candy Mountain he wanted to stop and take pictures.  I really think that he does a great job.

touching the clouds

Jake always asks me what clouds feel like.  So a few weeks ago when there was fog next to the west mountains we went for a ride.  He rolled down his window and felt the clouds.  My children make small things so magical.  I love it.  It makes me slow down and feel the clouds between my fingers too.

When Jake was 3 we saw some geese in the fields and he called them "Giraffe-Ducks."  I guess that he thought that they looked like ducks with long necks like a giraffe.  So that is what we still call geese at our house.

just so you know

My sisters always tell me that I need to write down all of the funny things that my super crazy children say or do.  They always come up with those funny things. And although I haven't been very good at writing down the things that they have said in the past.  My goal is to start now.  So I am writing them here.  This blog is our family journal.  A place that I can record funny things that happen, pictures, and just us.  So that is what you get at our family blog just us. So I hope that you enjoy.

hamster babies

Well here you are.  The cute, the adorable 8 day old babies.( I think that they look like little toes.)  We finally dug them all out yesterday to see them.  There are seven babies.  There eyes are still closed but they are starting to get some fur and move a little.  But I am afraid that we bugged them so much yesterday that the little mother (Digger) decided to move her nest.  But she moved it into their wheel.  I don't know what she was thinking.  It took her 20 minutes just to carry her little babies into it.  She has to climb in and she kept tipping over.  Pour things.  Kind of fun to watch though.
This one is the Momma.  They are really small things.
So we have seven babies ready for a new home in a week or two if anyone wants one----PLEASE!!

Out with the little!

I know that growing up is inevitable but do they really have to do it so darn fast?  I mean really.  Today as I dropped James and Jesse off at school all I got was a "see ya Mom." Not a smile, not a hug, just a okay I have to say something "see ya Mom."  I guess I should appreciate that.  But when I dropped Jake off at preschool I get a hug, a smile and as he is shutting the door he yells, even though the other kids might here.  "I'll miss you Mom, I love ya." Oh how I wish that they could stay that cute forever.

But they grow up and they decide that they want to ride a bigger bike.

This week Jake tossed aside his little bike.
And took over one of the bigger ones.
It was time. Our bike rides go a lot faster now, but it still makes me sad to see him grow up.  But I guess that it they never grew up I could never see that look of determination that they get when they are trying new things.  And that is one of my favorite things about them.  They try new things and they don't quit until they are zooming down the road faster then they were before.  I guess that I am just grateful to enjoy thin journey with them, even if it does seem to go by way to quickly.

Green Grass

What is more spring-like than fresh green grass?
It is green, fresh and new.
So we planted some.  And to the boys it is a great new toy.  They love to play with it.
They loved to plant it.  And watch it grow.
Play with dragons and guys in it.  Cars too.  They go jungle crawling and exploring.

Trim it and pretend like they are farming it.

Or just practice their hair cutting skills.  They joys of being a boy in the spring time:)

Are you kidding me??? Hamster update!!

Okay so I know that this is a really stupid thing to keep everyone informed on, but the story keeps getting better.  I felt bad for my boys and the pour empty hamster cage, and Casper has been kicked outside until she is done playing in the mud and sheddingSo I thought that we were safe.  On Saturday while I was driving by the pet store, I found myself inside buying yet another hamster.  The boys reacted just the way that I wanted them to.  So excited!!  They played with it constantly. Pour thing. But they said excitedly, "Mom it is fat maybe it will have babies!" I laughed and said, "no way, not again!"

They were right!!!! On Monday it had babies! No wonder it was on sale for a dollar! So the hamster cage is taken but... SUPER CUTE HAMSTER BABIES FOR SALE!  Free to any home.  Will be good to go in two weeks!!

County Fair

Today was James' 4th grade County Fair at school.
His was on Beaver County!

His favorite things about it was Butch Cassidy and Eagle Point Ski Resort.
What could be better than a cowboy outlaw and snowboarding?
Jake went with me and sat with James as I walked around and saw the other kids.  They really are amazing brothers.  When we left Jesse was coming in to see it to.  It is so fun to see them in their worlds doing their thing.
James you did a great job!  We love you!!!

Rocks and Sunshine

This weekend we needed to get outside, away from the snow.
So we ended up here.

Somewhere between here and Delta.
I took my camera.  I love the colors that are trying to come out of the snow (maybe I am imagining them:)
The boys took the rock crawler out and tried it on something other than the couch. They ran and explored and it was so great to get outside.
We all left with smiles on our faces and ready for spring!
I love it when I find my boys cuddled together on the couch watching movies after a busy day at school.

It just makes everything in the world okay.

James and Jesse are doing a wrestling workshop this month and they love it!!
I don't know if our house can take too much of it though, every night they move the front room furniture around and go at it for hours.  I thought that it would help them use up their energy, but I have come to the conclusion that it is never ending:)
So I took my camera to practice captured their moves, but I didn't realize the faces that I was capturing in the process.  Seriously, those boys really get into it.

Logan and Jake were in there too, encouraging, and playing along.
 Ta-da!!

After it was over they helped Jake learn the moves too. They have lots of fun.  When we were leaving Jake decided "Mom we really need a room like this in our house." I'd have to agree, it would be nice.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

We love bedtime stories.
So this is what bedtime often looks like at our house.

So in the words of Dr.Seuss,
"Today is gone.  Today was fun.
Tomorrow is another one.
Every day,
from here to there,
funny things are everywhere."
