preschool graduation!

Today my little man graduated from preschool.
I love his preschool teacher and all of the little boys in his class.  He had only 6 boys in his class and for the first few times that they combined the classes, he wouldn't go.  His excuse was he didn't like the girls.  This coming from the boy who's best friend is a girl.
Well, here they all are.  He is the dashing one on the end.

 Signing the abc's.
 Cute little graduates
Receiving his diploma.  I figure that the high school one is coming soon to, and it makes me sad.
Our little graduate.  We love you Jakob!!!

Our beautiful weekend

I know I am really bad at keeping up with my blog lately, but I am trying to be better.  This is why our weekend was so fantastic, it was full of moments like this.

I know that those are bugs, well snails, but we are raising boys.  And bugs are just what we do, especially with Jake around.  He always has a bug in his hand.  And has since he was 2.  But luckily I have only found a few in his pockets, and they are bugs not snakes.
Frogs too.  We went up the mountain to see if the snow is melting and found ourselves at a pond with frogs and snails and spent the afternoon enjoying the mountains and trying to catch them.

They were so happy sharing the frog and playing in the water. It was relaxing, and everyone was happy.  There were a few tears shed when the frog had to go home.  But we all had a great time.
James was having a blast skipping rocks.  He was doing great.
The boys were throwing sticks into the water and letting Casper bring them back.  But when they threw in about 10 or so, she started taking them to the other side of the pond to keep them away from the boys.  She is a smart dog.  I laughed at her.
This is a funny picture I know but it described the whole afternoon.  This is Logan and my legs as we sat back to watch the boys, laughed, played, and listened to the wind blow through the trees.  It was heavenly.

This weekend I had a fabulous weekend!  It was Fathers and Sons so Logan and the boys went camping Friday night.  I think that sometimes you need to miss your family so that you appreciate them more. Saturday and Sunday were great because it felt like summer.  I am ready for summer.

This morning as Jakob was getting ready for school he was pretty upset because he did not want to go.  Today was letter Z day and he had to write the whole alphabet.  THE WHOLE THING!  And that was way too hard!  But he did it and he did great!

I think that he did fabulous.

This morning I also had to go through James' schedule with him because for some reason the last few weeks of school are crazy! Today he had school, scouts, baseball practice, 15 min break, and then his brothers baseball game, and come home at 8:00.  Hopefully he doesn't have any homework.  And sadly that is just today.

I am excited when I can see my boys and have time to actually play catch with them instead of constantly driving them to practices and games.  We have baseball games four nights a week, and although I really like baseball, I miss quiet evenings playing in the back yard too.  I am telling you this now even though in a few months I will be ready for school to begin again.  I will miss bed time and a schedule.  But for now I will be excited for quiet nights and no bed time, homework, or tight schedules.  And of course sunshine, swimming pools, popsicle's, and happy children.  (I can dream, can't I?)

field trips

You know that the school year is almost over when the kids start going on field trips.  We are counting down the days at our house (9!!) I think that mostly because we are ready to sleep in, at least get up when we want to. I asked Jesse a few days ago what he wanted to do this summer and his response was, "Dance with my wife, if I had one."  Sometimes, okay most of the time, he is an odd duck.  But that's why we love him.

This year James and Jesse both took cameras on their field trips.  It was fun to see what pictures they came home with.  Here are my favorites...

 Bus trips !!!!

James went to Cove Fort and it snowed all day.  He said that it was still fun, and he took beautiful pictures of it.
He also went to Fremont Indian Museum.

 Jesse went to Thanksgiving Point

He is such an actor.  He always has funny faces.

I'm glad that they had lots of fun and I'm glad that summer is almost here.

Strawberries!!

Strawberries are here.  I love stawberries

Seriously what is more beautiful than that?  And so yummy.  Yesterday when the boys got home from school they each devoured a bowl full.  And them we  made this...
S
Yummy.  Today, if I get time, I want hot bread to eat it on.  I will probably just do some rhodes rolls though:) Hot bread and homemade strawberry jelly is my favorite comfort food.  I always found myself at my gradma's house when her bread was coming out of the oven.  Maybe because I lived next door and I waited for the smell.  But every time I did we would cut open a loaf and eat it hot with her jelly.  I loved it.  Now I love it when my boys come home from school and eat it with me.  They tell me that it tastes like love.  I think that they are right.  I hope that your day is full of love and hot bread:)  And yummy strawberries too.

"It's a scientific fact that Mondays are longer than Tuesdays"  Jesse told me that this weekend and I thought that you would like to know!!
