Basketball

I never knew that having children would teach me so much!  Right now I am learning about basketball.  I am not a sports fan but I am learning as my sports son goes from one to the next.  James is loving basketball right now and honestly I am loving watching him.

 

 Grandma and grandpa are great to come and support him.

 Joey loves the games as well-  well he usually sleeps through them.

It has been a great season so far.

It amazes me every time I hear a song that touches my heart and expresses how I feel.

I am grateful that winter finally came.  And that Joey slept long enough that we were able to create this man in our backyard.  Jake has been waiting and waiting for a snowman all winter.

"Mom I keep on waiting for James to do all of those thing with me, but then I decided that I need to stop waiting for him, and to do those with my little brothers."

What a smart little man.  I think that i need to stop waiting too.  What are you waiting for?

Gratitude

I have finally came up with my new years resolution.  I wanted a simple one that I could actually do.  One simple focus- so I have one simple thing.  I heard a thought a few weeks ago that made me think.  What if you woke up this morning and only had the things that you thanked God for yesterday.  I've been thinking about that a lot lately and have been wondering if I am grateful enough.  So throughout this year I want to post simple things that I am grateful for that day.  I think that it will help me by looking for them and appreciating them. 

A kitchen sink.

I know, I know  That one is really simple.  While we were remodeling our house we went without a kitchen sink for 6 weeks.  I dare you to go without your kitchen sink for one day.  I still am so grateful every time I go to the sink to use it. It is such an amazing thing to have!

A day in the life of our Joey.

Jake wakes you up because he wants to play now!

(Constantly ALL day long)

Jesse can't wait to play with you after school.

You are the first thing that he runs to, besides the bathroom to wash his hands.

And then of course FOOD.

 Pulling faces at each other.

 You are good buddies.

Then it is James'  turn.  He holds you anytime that you cry.  Or when ever I need to do anything, like make dinner.  But he makes sure that you are well educated on important matters, like watching the latest motocross race.

You are definitely well loved and spoiled around here.  I am constantly taking pictures of you, and when dad gets home he has to fight for a turn to play with you. 

Lets just say that you are very well loved.  And that your brothers take their job very seriously.

new years eve

This year we had a quiet new years eve.   Logan and his dad played a mean game of chess.

 The boys had their cousins over and played some video games.

 Joey hung out, that's just what he does these days.

 Casper too.  We were all pretty lazy, but we had a good time at it.
